Treatment: The programme is based on the 12 step abstinence model, and also incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy, eye-movement desensitisation therapy, psychotherapy, individual and group counselling and therapy, educational workshops and family support programmes. Holistic therapies including yoga, Tai Chi, art therapy are offered. For people suffering with mild to moderate mental health issues, a range of outpatient therapies are offered.

The management at the clinic understand that the standard of comfort offered by the facility can be a vital element of the overall treatment. This is because if the client is not happy in their environment they will struggle to get the most out of the experience. This facility has been recently refurbished to increase the level of comfort offered. Each client gets their own room with en suite facilities. They also get their own television and private phone – mobile phones are also allowed. There is a private garden in the East Wing, and the grounds of the centre are landscaped. Some residents will be allowed to see visitors depending on their program. All the shared rooms in the centre are kept to a high standard, and offer good levels of comfort. Residents are expected to take their meals in the dining room.
The Treatment Team
In order for the client to be able to get the most from the program they will need the help of a number of different professionals. The treatment team is made up of psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, counsellors, therapists, and support staff. The leader of the team is a consultant psychiatrist.
The Treatment Program
The core of the treatment program at the clinic is therapy and 12 Step work. The client will be expected to complete all of the 12 Steps during their stay, as this will give them a firm basis, and they will be able to continue with this program by joining a fellowship such as AA or NA. Clients will also take part in therapy groups and benefit from one to one counselling.
