This service is provided by South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. We offer specialist assessment and treatment for children and young people (up to age of 18) with eating disorders. Are you a young person with all-consuming and preoccupying worries and difficulties with eating? Or a parent with concerns about your child's eating? Eating difficulties may take different forms such as restricting/avoiding food, skipping meals, being overly concerned about calories, weight-checking or over-exercising, as well as vomiting or bingeing, often resulting in increased anxiety and unhappiness. GPs use the following questions to check for an eating disorder: Do you make yourself sick because you feel uncomfortably full? Do you worry that you have lost control over how much you eat? Do you ever eat in secret? Does your weight affect the way you feel about yourself? Do you believe yourself to be fat when others say you are too thin? Would you say that food dominates your life? If two or more of these apply to you, or even if you are unsure whether you should be worried - please get in touch - we can help. Speak to our experienced duty clinician on the telephone number below. Self-referral telephone linefor young people or their parents: 020 3228 2545 (line open 9.00am - 6.00pm)
