Private Rehab

Private rehabilitation facilities are independent treatment centres designed to provide a conducive environment for recovery, as well as effective, personalised treatment plans for people who want to overcome their addiction. These rehabs run residential programmes from 28 to 90 days that are personalised to the needs of each client. You’ll get 24/7 care from start to finish with an experienced medical and therapy team.

The major benefit of private rehab is the intensity of treatment, which is comprehensive and tailored to fit each patient. Private rehab centres are also medical clinics, where you can receive (if required) a medical detox, treatment for physical and behavioural addictions along with psychiatric support.

Treatment includes a thorough assessment to determine your specific treatment needs; detoxification to remove all harmful toxins from your system; psychotherapy to treat all psychological problems, and 1yr free aftercare to help you maintain abstinence after rehab.

What Does Rehab Cost?

When you are considering the cost of drug and alcohol rehab in South Yorkshire, you will find varying figures. The reason for this is that the cost of rehab depends on many factors. Some of these include the degree of the addiction, the level of treatment required, the location of the rehab, the facilities provided, and more. However, you should expect to spend between £5,000-£10,000 a month, for rehab in South Yorkshire.

NHS Addiction Treatment Options

Whether you are in Doncaster, Barnsley, Sheffield, or Rotherham, you can find NHS drug and alcohol addiction treatment options all around South Yorkshire. This means you shouldn’t give up hope on getting treatment if you cannot afford private rehab. NHS treatment options are also for you if the intricacies surrounding your everyday life (family life, work) mean you can’t afford to go into rehab for very long.

Pros And Cons Of NHS Treatment

Pros

The major advantage of NHS treatment is the fact that it is mostly government-funded. Some charities also partner with the government to provide treatment. This means you don’t have to pay any fees to get the help you need. The funding is limited, but anyone with a mild to moderate case of addiction, that can be treated on an outpatient basis, will benefit from this option.

Cons

The major disadvantage of free treatment is the fact that it is not available to everyone. The NHS waiting list can be long, and the charities working with the government to provide free treatment tend to only target a certain demographic. Many of them focus on one or more of the following: men, women, teenagers, the homeless, and the elderly. There is, therefore, every chance that you won’t make the cut.

Additionally, the limited funding available means that these facilities cannot provide bespoke treatment. Even when a more general approach to treatment can work, they might not be able to keep you in the rehab programme for as long as you need to make a full recovery.

Addiction Support Groups

All around South Yorkshire, you will find groups of recovering addicts who have come together to help each other in the journey towards sobriety by sharing experiences. These support groups are pivotal in the fight against relapse. This is why it is recommended that you remain a part of the group long after leaving rehab.

What is NA?

Narcotic Anonymous is a group that brings together everyone who wants to quit their drug addiction. They follow the 12-steps, and put emphasis on drawing on the experiences of the members as a source of hope and strength to other members.

What is AA?

Alcoholic Anonymous is the largest 12-step group in the world. They are focused on helping people quit their alcohol addiction through regular meetings. There are dozens of AA meeting venues across South Yorkshire.

Types of Counselling

One-to-One This is the most commonly known type of therapy. It involves a counselling session between therapist and patient in the same room. It may be held in an office, coffee shop, garden or any place where the patient feels most comfortable. Face-to-face therapy includes techniques such as motivational interviewing, simple yet effective QnA or unloading where the client releases whats been on there mind causing anxiety, fear, sadness etc… before the therapist interprets this and helps the client to uncover the root issue.

Online This includes all counselling services provided through the internet. It includes sessions via emails, Skype, and support group chat rooms such as SMART Recovery online support groups. It is easy, convenient, and promotes anonymity.

Group Involves a number of people struggling with similar issues coming together to discuss these issues openly, and in the presence of a certified counsellor. Through this process, each participant gains a deeper insight into their addiction, while providing support to others in the group at the same time.

How Can I Get To and From South Yorkshire?

South Yorkshire is comfortably situated between North Yorkshire, the East Riding of Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Greater Manchester. It’s easy to access the county’s HQ town Barnsley from all these other counties within as little as 80 minutes by either car or by train.

By Road>/h3>
South Yorkshire is 166 miles away from London, about a 3-hour drive. The drive via the M1 will go through Luton, Leicester, Loughborough, Northampton, and Chesterfield. If you don’t want to drive, you can get on the National Express bus route. However, this can take double the driving time.

From Manchester, the drive will take about 80 minutes via the A6 and A57 to M67 in Audenshaw, from there continue straight to Market St/A628 which will take you to Barnsley. If you’re travelling from Wakefield (West Yrokshire’s main city), you can get to Barnsley in about half na hour via the M1 which you have to exit at Junction 37 where you will end up on the A628 for Barnsley/Machester.

By Train

If you’re coming from a longer distance, for example Surrey’ Guildford, your drive would take about 3.5 hours, so we would recommend switching to the local railways where you would travel just 20 minutes more, but without the responsibilities related to driving. The line is serviced by the South Western Railway, the Victoria Line, East Midlands Trains, and Northern railways. Unfortunately, no reliable direct route is available, so you will have to switch trains between Surrey and South Yorkshire.

You can also get trains from London’s St. Pancras International Station for a 2-hour trip, which will end at the Rotherham Forge Island Station. Tickets are priced at around £13.

Large train stations in the county include also the ones in Rotherham, Sheffield, Doncaster, and Chapel Town.
