The staff at this facility are committed to what they call a fifty/fifty approach. This means that the team share the decision making with their clients. By approaching things this way, it ensures that clients have a full say in how the service is run. In order for something to happen, it needs to be agreed by the users of the service as well as the providers. The staff members at this facility put a high value on the input of their clients, and they are committed to dealing with these people in a non-judgemental way.
There are 18 registered beds in this facility. Each client will have their own room, and there are 10 rooms with en suite facilities. Two of the beds are reserved for clients who are going through detox. There is a reasonably high level of comfort in this facility because the team understand that if clients are unhappy in their surroundings they will not be able to get the most out of the experience.
The Treatment Team
All members of the team are committed and dedicated. They are expected to be constantly updating their skills and knowledge to ensure that clients always have the best possible resources and options. The staff members also offer their services in a transparent and fair manner. The team is professional at all times, but they also understand the importance of building friendly relationships with clients.
The Treatment Program
This facility offers an eclectic mix of different approaches. The goal is to find what works for the client rather than just sticking slavishly to one approach. The program includes aspects of the Minnesota Model (12-step approach), social learning theory, cognitive behavioural therapy, and therapeutic community. When the client first arrives in this facility they will be fully assessed in regards to their needs, and the path they will then follow will be based on this. As well as getting professional help with their addiction problems, the individual also benefits from a great deal of peer support.
