Location and Profile
This alcohol rehab & drug treatment centre is located in Lancashire. They are able initially to provide an effective detox program along with a program to help the individual to build a strong foundation for their recovery. The first stage of the program usually lasts for 12 days, and there is a further 12 days in the second stage. Some clients will need to stay for longer in order to get the help they need, and this can be up to 39 weeks.

The staff at this facility offer an abstinence based philosophy because this has been shown to be the most effective when dealing with addiction problems. The treatment team are committed to the idea that clients have a life threatening condition and so breaking away from addiction permanently is vital. The staff members understand that no person ever plans to become addicted to these substances. They offer their help in a non-judgemental and fair manner, and they treat each client as a unique individual who is deserving of respect. The team is also committed to working in a transparent manner, and they are completely open to feedback.
There are 29 registered beds in this alcohol and drug rehab. There are four beds reserved for females. This facility has six twin rooms, and the rest of the beds are in larger rooms with three or more beds in each room. It is seen as important that clients share a room otherwise there will be the temptation for them to isolate – this means that they will not be able to get the most out of the program. The 14 bedded detox unit is open to both genders.

They are fully committed and dedicated to helping clients make a permanent break from addiction problems. It is the aim of the treatment team to ensure that they consistently provide a high quality program that will make a real difference to people’s lives.
The Treatment Program
The program offered by this facility is an adapted form of the Minnesota Model. This means that it involves the 12 Steps as used in programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. As well as providing the individual with the tools they need to break away from addiction, the person is also helped to move their life in a positive direction. By the time the individual has completed this program, they should have a firm foundation for their recovery, and be ready to deal with sober living.
Best Suited For
Males and females dealing with addiction problems will be welcome at this facility. They are unable to accept clients who have a dual diagnosis – this means that the individual has a mental health problem alongside their addiction.
This facility offers full wheelchair access. One of the rooms in this rehab offers full disability access.
