Accommodation: All houses have private bedrooms and shared living areas, and are within a 15 minute walk from the modern treatment facility. The facility has 12 treatment and counselling rooms, large communal spaces, kitchens, a computer room with internet access, and a plasma television. The environment is structured, supervised and safe with on-call doctors.
Ethos: Recovery in the real world. Quasi residential programmes which help to assume normal living while engaging in treatment. This makes the transition from treatment to normal life seamless and reduces the risk of relapse.
Treatment: Bespoke detox and rehab programmes with up to 12 weeks’ primary care and an option to progress to secondary care. Treatment is based on the 12 step approach with a unique inspirational model that lifts clients and inspires them to change. The centre offers a well-structured aftercare programme which is free for a year.
Staff: All counselling staff have beaten addiction themselves and are committed to helping alcoholics and drug users do the same.
The clinic is set just outside of a busy town centre in the South of Bedfordshire, and belongs to a large and well established group of rehabilitation and detox clinics. The sober living houses house same sex groups only and are within walking distance of the clinic. Local facilities and public transport services are all within walking distance, with the towns college within close proximity for those who wish to go on to secondary care and attend a college course. This clinic encourages its clients to regain independence whilst offering a high level of support to ensure their safety at all times. The clinic offer Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary care programs with third stage housing and a well-established recovery community.

The staff at this clinic are very passionate about their roles and believe in using the 12 Step model of abstinence. They work hard to break down individual’s denial around their addiction before introducing them to a solution based recovery program. The staff provide a highly supportive and structured environment and many have their own past experience of addiction. They believe that no one is ever to hopeless to help and that everyone deserves the opportunity to recover and lead a productive and happy life free from addiction
The accommodation consists of same sex houses with the day clinic a short walk away. The houses are comfortable and well equipped with shared amenities and well-furnished bedrooms. The clinic is able to accommodate clients from the private as well as publicly funded sector, and has provision for up to 38 individuals at any one time. This is a large and busy clinic that offers a structured value for money program and on-going support into the community.
The Treatment Team
The clinics team consists of several members of highly skilled and qualified staff including a Clinic Director and Manager, a G.P, Qualified Counsellors, Holistic therapist, Recovery coaches, support workers and volunteers.
The Treatment Program
The Treatment program incorporates the 12 Step model of total abstinence, along with holistic and cognitive approaches. The treatment day consists of Process group, group therapy, Step work, workshops and one to one counselling. Clients are expected to attend planned activities and 12 Step meetings in the evenings. The Primary residential program is structured and disciplined and runs for up to 12 weeks. The clinic are able to offer a Secondary care program to their clients with reduced levels of supervision but with the same levels of support and therapy delivered during their Primary care program. This clinic also facilitates supported housing for those wishing to stay on for Tertiary care.
Best Suited For
The Bedfordshire Clinic is particularly suited to someone who enjoys the support and companionship of others. Someone who is looking for a longer term treatment program and is perhaps on a restricted budget, or is in need of help to integrate into the community. It is also suited for those who may be homeless or rootless and are looking for a sense of belonging within a recovery focused community.
The Bedfordshire clinic has no wheel chair access and is not suitable for individuals with moderate to severe levels of physical disability.
