We are a Cornish-based charity supporting vulnerable, needy and homeless members of the community, from across Cornwall. Here at STAK St Austell we realise that life isnÍt always straightforward and sometimes people can find themselves in difficult situations. Our aim is to support those who are experiencing the effects of poverty and to provide them with the help, support and assistance they need to take the next step in their life. Based in the heart of St Austell, with premises at 8 High Cross Street, we offer a variety of different services. Our community kitchen is open six days a week where we offer two affordable meals a day; one at lunchtime and again at teatime. Most importantly, the kitchen is a safe space for people where they can access support, advice and guidance. Our team of volunteers give numerous hours to make the work of STAK St Austell possible. Supported by our manager, Kim Mathews, our volunteers are given the right tools and training to undertake their role. We believe that prevention is better than cure and that itÍs just as important to help people before they become homeless. Our debt advice services means we can support people to manage their finances and take control of their lives before itÍs too late. Our aim is to offer more services like this in the future. We are a friendly, non judgemental team, so if youÍre ever passing and want to find out more, please do pop in
